Julie M. Brown is the Principal of Julie M. Brown and Associates, a Bay Area management consulting firm specializing strategic planning, operational analysis and leadership development. She utilizes her deep operational experience to help clients create transformative work environments and develop high performing leaders and teams. Current and past clients include the Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, the Institute on Aging, Levi Strauss, Triage Consulting, Palo Alto Networks, Moss Adams, the Sobrato Family Foundation, Asian Health Services, Vivent Health and the San Mateo County Transit District. Prior to forming her firm, Julie held roles as Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco’s Hospital and Health Plan CEO and as the Operations Support Services Leader and Assistant Administrator at Kaiser Santa Clara. She also held Service Line Executive Director and Business Development roles at Alta Bates-Herrick Hospital.
Julie has spoken nationally and internationally on her research regarding successful leadership practices and has served on numerous boards including Planned Parenthood Northern California and Health Career Connection. She is an instructor in UC Davis’ Continuing and Professional Education Program and a Lecturer for UC Berkeley MPH Program’s “Strategic Planning in Health Care” course. She holds master’s degrees in Business Administration and in Public Health, along with undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Social Welfare, all from UC Berkeley. Julie was recently named one of UC Berkeley’s 75 Most Influential Public Health Alumni.
