As the Berkeley Haas Chief DEI Officer, Dr. Élida Bautista sets the vision for our school-wide DEI initiative. Along with her team, DEI collaborates with admissions, student and alumni experience, faculty instruction, and staff initiatives across all of our Haas degree programs and units to reduce disparities and increase belonging. She also represents Haas as the Consortium (CGSM) Advisory Board Member.
Dr. Bautista initially joined Haas in January 2018 as the Director of Inclusion and Diversity. Prior to Haas, Élida was an Associate Professor in the University of California, San Francisco’s Department of Psychiatry where she served as the Director of Clinical Training for the UCSF Multicultural Clinical Training Program, and oversaw the Education and Learning for the UCSF Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Outreach. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan and her BA in Chicano Studies and Psychology from Claremont McKenna College.
