As the Berkeley Haas Chief DEI Officer, Dr. Élida Bautista leads our school-wide DEI initiatives, along with a team that supports admissions, student experience, faculty instruction, and staff initiatives across all of our Haas degree programs and units. She also represents Haas as the Consortium (CGSM) Advisory Board Member.
Dr. Bautista initially joined Haas in January 2018 as the Director of Inclusion and Diversity. In that inaugural role, she oversaw the implementation of the 2018 DEI strategic plan and was an integral member of the 2019 Haas DEI Action plan.
Prior to Haas, Élida was an Associate Professor in the University of California, San Francisco’s Department of Psychiatry where she served as the Director of Clinical Training for the UCSF Multicultural Clinical Training Program, and oversaw the Education and Learning for the UCSF Vice Chancellor of Diversity and Outreach. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan and her B.A. in Chicano Studies and Psychology from Claremont McKenna College.
