Adrienne Hogg, BS 86, EWMBA 94 is the Co-Executive Director at Community Works, a nonprofit in Oakland that works with youths, adults, and families impacted by the criminal justice system, and has developed a reputation as one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s premiere providers of restorative justice services. She also founded Gather Locally, a startup e-commerce technology company focused on helping people build self-reliant communities by cultivating neighbor-to-neighbor connections.
Before starting Gather Locally, Adrienne was the Controller for Animation Mentor, an online animation school in Emeryville, which she joined in 2008. In this role, she managed the following functions: accounting, finance, human resources, legal, and facilities. Before joining Animation Mentor, Adrienne had twelve years of experience in the biotechnology/life sciences industry. Her most recent work in that industry was as senior director of finance of the cardiovascular division for Thoratec Corporation in Pleasanton.
Prior, she was a director of finance for Chiron Corporation in Emeryville where she was responsible for the implementation and administration of Chiron’s financial controls compliance program for the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, including overseeing the management of the SOX program for all US and international locations. Before joining Chiron, she was corporate controller for Lynx Therapeutics, Inc., and held various managerial positions at Anergen, Inc. and Genentech, Inc.
Before working in the biotechnology industry Adrienne worked for ten years in the construction industry as Vice President, Controller for Ball and Brosamer, Inc., a heavy and highway construction company in Danville. Adrienne has been a member of several boards of trustees including The College Preparatory School, Redwood Day School, and The Oakland School for the Arts. She received BS and MBA degrees from the UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
